Setting up Service Monitor
System requirements
Service Monitor works on any Mac computer running Mac OS X 10.1 or higher. It must also have a PowerKey Pro 650 or Kick-off! unit connected, along with the corresponding software.
To use Service Monitor, your PowerKey or Kick-off! software must be configured to monitor application timers:
- Open the "Rebound!" (for PowerKey Pro) or "Kick-off!" application.
- Select the "Application Crashes" tab.
- Make sure the "Monitor application timers" box is checked.
Installing Service Monitor
Service Monitor can be opened simply by double-clicking on it, but it will only continue to work until the computer is restarted or the current user logs out. In most cases, you'll want to run it automatically when the computer starts up:
- From the Apple menu, select System Preferences....
- Open the "Login Items" list:
- Mac OS X 10.3 and higher: Select the "Accounts" preference pane, choose your account in the user list, and select the "Login Items" tab.
- Mac OS X 10.2: Select the "Login Items" preference pane.
- Mac OS X 10.1: Select the "Login" preference pane.
- Drag the Service Monitor application into the list, or click the "+" (or "Add") button at the bottom of the list, and locate Service Monitor in the dialog box.
