Preferences

If you select "Preferences..." from the Service Monitor menu, the following sheet appears:

Check services every...

This setting determines how often each monitor checks its service.

Rebound! Timer value

This setting determines the value to which the Rebound! Timer is set when a monitor runs a successful check. The timer is then counted down by the PowerKey/Kick-off! software every second.

Note: This value should be at least four times the "Check Services every..." value. This allows the monitor to check the server several more times in case of failure, so temporary "glitches" will not cause a full system restart.

The current value of the timer can be seen in the "Applications Crashes" tab of the Rebound!/Kick-off! control panel:

Service check timeout

This setting determines the amount of time the monitor will wait for a check to complete before giving up and returning a timeout error.

Note: This value should be smaller than the "Check services every..." value, so the check will end before the next check is scheduled to be run.

Note: Furthermore, do not set this value too short. You must be sure to give the service time to process the commands and respond.
