Sophisticated Circuits releases Kick-off! 1.5
with support for OS X and UPS systems

WOODINVILLE, WASHINGTON, May 14, 2002 -- Sophisticated Circuits, Inc. today released Kick-off! 1.5, bringing their patented reliability device to OS X and adding new support for use with uninterruptible power systems.

The new software has been completely rewritten to work with OS X and OS X Server (10.1 and up). Also featured in this new version is the ability to start up the computer whenever power returns after an outage. An optional delay can be set to keep the computer isolated from the power lines until the voltage has stabilized.

Kick-off! is a tightly integrated hardware and software solution, utilizing Sophisticated Circuits’ patented auto-restart technology to continuously monitor unattended computers for problems, and to automatically and cleanly restart the system, or restart the entire machine, if necessary, increasing uptime, and making the lives of system administrators easier.

In addition, applications can use Sophisticated Circuits’ patent-pending Rebound! Technology to detect error conditions that can cause applications to fail but not actually crash. To enable this extra protection, developers need only add a few simple calls to their programs to let Kick-off! monitor their internal workings.
